Dial-a-Trip

Community car scheme for Tuxford and the surrounding area. An inexpensive service for those who are unable to access public or other transport.

Dial a Trip is a community car scheme run and administered by volunteers. Its aim is to provide transport for anyone who cannot access public or other transport.

In order to become a user simply fill out a registration form and return it to Dial a Trip together with the annual fee of £8 per person or £12 per couple. Then you are free to use the Dial a Trip service.

To book a trip you must contact the Dial a Trip office on 01777 870040 or 874919 giving the details of your trip, address, telephone and time of appointment.

  • We do require 48 hours notice if possible.
  • If we are unable to locate a driver we will ring and let you know, such occurrences are rare but they do happen.

If the office is closed, you can leave a message on our answer machine which we will respond to the next working day, in general we will ring you back to confirm that we have received your message and check that all the details are correct.

You may not get the same driver from every time, however all our drivers will be happy to  pick you up at your house and drop you off as close to your destination as possible.

They will wait for usually no more than one hour while you complete your business or appointment.  If your appointment is several hours long you will be to discuss this with the office when you phone to book your trip.

Our volunteer drivers take people to:

  • Appointments
  • Collecting prescriptions
  • Shopping trips
  • Hospital appointments
