The Tuxfordian provides valuable information and news to the community of Tuxford and other surrounding villages. The magazine is self funding through the advertising we sell to local businesses in the area. It is delivered by volunteers free of charge to 1600 homes.
The inspiration for The Tuxfordian came directly from the community of Tuxford themselves when, during a public meeting in 1996, a group got together to “improve communications within the village”. Initially a newsletter called “The Tuxfordian” was created using a photocopier provided by the local school, the newsletter had to be hand collated and stapled. The following year The Tuxfordian came first in the North Nottinghamshire Newsletter Competition and won a second hand risograph printer. Since then the newsletter has received funding for a new RISOgraph which has improved the quality the newsletter significantly.
